The Republican Party has a multi-generational dilemma their strategists must be scratching their heads to resolve. If their voters believed Democrats rigged the Presidential elections of 2020 and got away with it, then they are considering the possibility that the same voters must believe because of Trump every election will be rigged.
How do you conquer this mountain? With such beliefs, you might as well write-off GOP voters. Every election cycle for the next 20 years. None of them will show-up to vote.
This chilling impact on the Republican Party may play a role in the Senate convicting Donald Trump for destroying the very core of its mantle.
But what is striking about the 197 Republicans who are still advocating for Trump for their own complex reasons is that they are no closer to realizing that lies built upon more egregious lies can come back to haunt you.
BECAUSE OF TRUMP EVERY ELECTION WILL BE RIGGED
Americans are watching history at many levels. While Congress and the world are concentrating on the history behind the storming of the Capitol, GOP leadership is considering the heavy price they are and will be paying for chumming up to Donald Trump.
The GOP leadership is just beginning to realize the full picture of the Trump damage. The harm he caused has peeled the GOP voters from their party. Thanks to Donald Trump who destroys everything he touches. To say he is unfit to be a President lies before us in the damage he leaves behind.
Yet, 197 Republicans in the House refused to impeach him. Only 10 brave GOP lawmakers, led by Rep. Liz Cheney, realized that to save their party, they have to separate themselves from Donald Trump, and the sooner they do it, the further the insanity of Trump’s influence. They have to muzzle him, convict him, and hopefully send him to jail.
But what is striking about the 197 Republicans who are still advocating for Trump for their own complex reasons is that they are no closer to realizing that lies built upon more egregious lies can come back to haunt you.
Some, during their speeches, on the House floor prior to the impeachment vote, repeated the same lies. Talk about idiocy. They still don’t get it, or fear of losing their cushioned seats is stronger than facing reality.
One would think that lies would backfire on you sooner than later
DEMOGRAPHICALLY SPEAKING
The U.S. demographics are changing rapidly. Higher birth rates for people of color, in addition to more liberalism the result of deep societal changes, such as our views on the LGBTQ community, the Black Lives Matter movement, and Police Brutality, have all come together to define the reasons why President-elect Joe Biden won in 2020.
The two generations with the most impact are the Millennials, or Generation Y of young people born between 1981-1996, and a small portion of Generation Z of even younger people born between 1997-2012. Those two generations have been quite active during the Black Lives matter protests in support of people of color. They also dominated with record number turnouts in the 2020 elections.
The Atlantic wrote an article on the subject in which it said:
You can find the new research here. With this information, one would think that lies would backfire on you sooner than later. Not the Trumpists.
In 2020, Trump motivated them [Millennials] to vote for Biden. What will it be in 2022 and beyond? Maybe the miscreant Republicans in both Houses still licking Trump’s boots.
VOTER SUPPRESSION TACTICS
Republicans, driven by White Supremacy instincts, have been suppressing the colored people votes since the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Even though all indications are that their efforts are beginning to fail as we have witnessed in 2020. Nonetheless, Republicans are not deterred.
Immediately after the loss of Donald Trump, Republicans in the States of Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin began new efforts to suppress the black voters. They rolled back access to mail balloting, as well as eliminated many drop boxes. They are also toughening identification laws and erecting more barriers to intimidate people at the ballot. All in the name of security.
All these efforts will not help White Supremacists any more than they helped Trump win in 2020. The face of American politics is changing fast, and it seems liberalism, powered by America’s youth, is taking over future elections if the Democratic Party is able to keep them motivated.
In 2020, Trump motivated them to vote for Biden. What will it be in 2022 and beyond? Maybe the miscreant Republicans in both Houses still licking Trump’s boots.
