The GOP’s political sleight of hand to distract the voters from their machination relies on two types of personalities. Between the distractors and the implementers, ignorant voters who look for soundbites on every major voting decision are outgunned and outfoxed. It’s the manhandling of GOP voters by a political cabal aiming to secure winning an election for all their anti-populist policies.
The distractors, like Senator Ted Cruz, Former President Donald Trump, Governor Ron DeSantis, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, are responsible for diverting the attention of the voters towards the inane and the unimportant. While their cohorts, like Senator Mitch McConnell, aims his scope at important legislation that only help the few and the rich.
As an example, take Ted Cruz latest culture war against the Barbie film for its depiction of a map that supposedly helps Chinese disinformation. While the wolves cancel the rights of the average American, Ted Cruz and his ilk are drawing our attention elsewhere.
LOOK HERE. NO, LOOK THERE.
At the same time their voters look where the distractors direct their attention, the implementers, behind the scene, are concocting the policies to give them and their cohorts maximum leverage. Both political and economic. Republican voters in this country, who don’t know any better, are clueless about the harm their distractors and their implementers are causing their country.
So, anytime you see Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ron DeSantis, or even Kevin McCarthy pull the media’s attention to some inconsequential social matter, take a sneak peek at the more serious players in the GOP. What they are trying to implement while the sideline magic show captures the attention of their audience. This is what matters the most. What the implementers are doing in the middle of the night.
What’s behind the headlines, or the stories that attention grabbers like Greene or Cruz are trying to distract you from? All these politicians who are prosecuting culture wars are but distractors. Masters of deception, really.
Next time the news highlights trifling matters, just pull the curtain on Congress. The likelihood is immeasurably high your representative is voting for some law, or refusing to consider important legislation to help GOP voters.
Don’t let them ask you to choose one card from a deck in order to make a fool out of you.
