Democratic strategists are laying their hands bare in a new NBC article analyzing the ever dimming chances of Joe Biden winning in 2024. Apparently, Biden believes Trump and abortion provide him with enough capital to make mistakes, such as the gargantuan one he is committing in Gaza, and to ignore the economy’s troubles. The strategists believe the negatives in voters’ minds with regard to the Republican’s choice of candidate and their intent on abortion, outweigh any bad publicity Biden is earning as a result of a 2023 year laden with terrible mistakes. And none more than Gaza is making him look weak and unable to lead.
With that mindset 11 months from elections, now we fully understand his reluctance to stop the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian women and children. He believes that by the summer of 2024, after the Gaza war is over, he can shift the narrative to speak of Donald Trump and the abortion question women, in general, are struggling with.
Even with the Generation Z now notably standing against a Biden presidency, Biden believes he can persuade them to make a U-turn come November with his intense fearmongering, through campaign ads, to vote against any Republican candidate. Especially, if Trump takes a clear position on anti-abortion.
You cannot discount the “anger” Americans feel towards their political parties and government for not listening to them.
AN INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE LOOMS LARGE
No serious campaign manager, or strategist, can ignore the likes of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as an independent candidate spoiling either Trump or Biden’s chances of winning.
Kennedy appeals to many independents who see the faults of Biden and Trump stare them in the face. Not that Kennedy is any better, but he represents the “angry” vote in the November 2024 equation. On Gaza, he is even worse than Biden and Trump. A true Bostonian Irish racist with no apologies, even though most Bostonian Irish are the most decent people in America. Kennedy has shown not one iota of intelligence when it comes to understanding the Israel-Palestine problem.
However, on issues such as COVID-19 and MAGA-like conspiracies, Kennedy scores high. Will that hurt Biden or Trump more? This is a disputable question because he may sound like a Republican, but his name is associated with the Democrats, and we all know how some ignorant voters in this country carry out their civil duties.
There are two things one should not underestimate.
- The power of Kennedy to spoil the elections and throw it in disarray, and
- The anger that the American voters harbor for both Trump and Biden, as they see both unfit to sit in the White House ever again.
So, you can listen to this smart strategy, or that eye-opening tactic on how each presidential candidate intends to win, but you cannot discount the “anger” Americans feel towards their political parties and government for not listening to them.
If MAGA voters persist in selecting Trump as their candidate, what makes Biden think he can persuade the public to ignore his fault lines? They could be as persistent in rejecting him in 2024 no matter what strategy he fosters to upend his unpopularity.
