There is a belief that with an Israeli invasion of Gaza, the goal is to push all the Palestinians out. In short, the invasion of Gaza aims to create a tent city for almost three million Palestinians in the Sinai. On the side of Egypt. At least, that’s what Secretary Blinken alluded in Nadeen Ebrahim wrote for CNN.
Specifically, Ebrahim wrote:
Duplicating that policy requires the IDF to empty Gaza and push most of their inhabitants to live in tent cities in the Sinai of Egypt the UN would erect for them.
LET’S EMPTY GAZA AND OCCUPY IT
To flee means to exit Gaza forever. Make no mistake about what the intent of the Israeli government is here. Empty Gaza for Israelis to occupy and annex. Even if some Israelis stay, Israel would deal with them like it is dealing with the Palestinians in the West Bank. Just kill them slowly and take their lands for the Orthodox extremist settlers to forcefully inhabit.
From the point of view of the extremist settlers, whose sons refuse to fight in any wars, their barbaric template in the West Bank has been a raving success. They can take any land they want, and they can kill as many Palestinians civilians as they want. Duplicating that policy requires the IDF to empty Gaza and push most of their inhabitants to live in tent cities in the Sinai of Egypt the UN would erect for them. Mind you, with possibly US help and money.
That inhumane policy seems to have already been decided, and all Israel needs to do next is to implement it by invading Gaza, which the United States seems to support. This also explains why Israel ordered Gazans to move south to make it easier for their soldiers to push the Palestinians out of Gaza.
What happened to the notion of peace? President Biden may have just killed it altogether. And along with it, the votes of some 5 million Muslims in the U.S. who support the Palestinian cause.
EGYPT IS KEY
Will Egypt agree to this plan in return for additional few billions dollars of annual aid a year? Is this the reason King Abdullah flew to Egypt to warn its president against the Israeli intent? There is resistance in the Arab world because once the Palestinians leave Gaza to save their lives, they will never be able to get back again.
There are consequences for such policies. If Netanyahu believes he could take advantage of this war to further the death and destruction of Palestinian civilians without any accountability, he might want to consider that terror begets more terror. Down the road, as history has demonstrated the validity of this statement many times over.
The Sinai is mostly an empty desert that might compel the Egyptian president el-Sisi to consider if the rewards are worth it. We will have to wait and see what will happen in the next few weeks.
So far, the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt remains closed. Not even much needed aid can go through. Watch for more signs of this policy the moment Israel invades. Also, watch the Egyptian reaction as hundreds of thousands stream towards Egypt.
A humanitarian catastrophe in the making, which Netanyahu could not care less about causing.

Let us hope we are wrong about Israel pushing the Palestinians to the Sinai.
