No matter how much former President Donald Trump and Fox News disseminated outright lies about the result of the 2020 elections, with the recent Dominion Voting Machines’ win in settling out of court for some Fox mega bucks, the verdict is in when it comes to sending a clear message to all Americans, even though Trump himself has yet to be held accountable for his Big Lie, that you should ask yourself a question: Is Rupert Murdoch more dangerous than ISIS? At the end, even though, the truth is prevailing thanks to brave men, women, and companies who stood up to Donald Trump and who chose our Constitution over the con artistry of a loser, Murdoch is still on the loose.
People like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzingher, Mitt Romney, and many more who refused to tow the Trump line. And shame on all the Republicans in Congress, who, to this day, still spread misinformation and lies. Yes, I am talking about you, Marjorie Taylor Green and Paul Gosar. Shame on you!
Justice along with great lawyers are restoring our faith in our democratic system, and not one day too soon. And thank you, Dominion Voting Machines, for assisting in this precious endeavor.
Rupert Murdoch couldn’t care less about harming our democracy.
THE WORK CONTINUES
However, the utter defeat of Fox News is barely enough. The work must continue to hold the liars and the deceivers accountable because if we do not, there are ten times the number of conspirators waiting in the wings to spring their net of fascism upon our democracy. We are not for the taking, ladies and gentlemen.
Fox News lost big yesterday, and that means our democracy earned itself an even bigger win. Incidentally, if anyone expects Fox, which made billions choking the freedom of a certain class of American voters, to behave after this settlement, please do not hold your breath.
Rupert Murdoch couldn’t care less about harming our democracy; as an Australian-born businessman, we believe he has zero loyalty to the nation that embraced him, and he only loves this country because it made him money, otherwise he would not use the assets at his disposal to create divisiveness through spreading the lies that almost destroyed our system of government.
Unfortunately, we don’t have laws against media companies working diligently on breaking our democracy.
THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG
Dominion Voting Machines’ win is the tip of the iceberg. If we were to believe that the other lawsuit Smartmatic filed against Fox seeking $2.7 billions in damages might also force another large settlement, then we should put our trust in America’s democracy. The dominoes are falling the way democracy intended them to fall.
Has Fox learned its lesson? We believe their business model is on a collision course with our democratic institutions, and it is a matter of time before another tragedy unfolds because of Fox playing hooky with the truth. We believe that as long as Fox is making money from our divisiveness, the network will be relentless in pursuing whatever strategy to increase its revenues.
Unfortunately, we don’t have laws against media companies working diligently on breaking our democracy. So who is more dangerous? Rupert Murdoch or ISIS?
