Is There a Strategy to Contain Trump?

If anyone thinks Donald Trump will not try again to dismantle whatever semblance of a democracy we are partially enjoying today if he runs and wins in 2024, they need three dozen more IQ points added to their brains. The longer we stand on the sideline, the higher the chance, as the Fuhrer catches his breath, to mount a successful comeback to the detriment of our country. Is there a strategy to contain Trump, or are we just blowing in the wind hoping we might just steer our government in the right direction? Biden’s favorability numbers may be down, but, for heaven’s sake, the alternative is not Donald Trump in 2024.

Grant you, Trump may not enjoy a presidential critical mass as polls show him lacking among key groups. But this is exactly what pollsters told us back in 2016 when they predicted that Hillary Clinton would win by a landslide. Remember 2016?

If any Democratic strategist is relying on today’s polls as the only strategy to contain Trump, they should be fired on the spot. Like Senators Manchin and Sinema, they are Trojan Horses of the worst kind.

Trump, like the coward that he is, is using his supporters not only to milk them for all their worth, but also to build a wall behind which he hides from the law.

ARE MILLIONS OF TRUMPISTS SCARING BIDEN AND GARLAND?

Biden is a healer. He sincerely believes, in his heart, just like a priest, that he can heal this nation and bring us all together. Even when in doubt, his first instinct is to embrace any policy that may inject hope to unite the nation. It’s a waste of precious time the Republicans are using to run the clock on him. Just like wolves wait for their prey to tire and slow down.

The possibility, as minute as it may sound, may yet exist that the U.S. Government, in all its branches, is trying to get a handle on the penetration of the Confederate Trumpists in its ranks. Especially at the Pentagon. It aims to ensure that no renegade commander sows chaos and mayhem in the service of the con man Trump. Under that scenario, the delay in prosecuting Donald Trump may seem logical. Biden may be taking ultra caution that when his government moves on Donald Trump, he has no significant assets in place to cause harm.

But that’s the optimistic me writing here. The reality is that the longer we wait, the bolder Donald Trump becomes and the more rallies he organizes to plant doubt that mounting an indictment against him might be successful. Trump, like the coward that he is, is using his supporters not only to milk them for all their worth, but also to build a wall behind which he hides from the law.

If that means a Catholic President locks up a Protestant former President for breaking the law, so be it.

MOVE ON TRUMP BEFORE HE MOVES BACK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE

I am not alone crying wolf. Many important people in Congress, and the government, want to see Trump locked behind bars; or at least indicted, which will bar him from ever running again for office.

Any other strategy, such as waiting to clean house or predicting that Trump is dividing the GOP, which might help the Democrats in 2022, may backfire. What if the GOP unites behind him two months prior to 2022? How would the DNC react to this chess move?

The only sure thing for the Federal Government to undertake today is to pursue Trump in courts, with all its might, for mounting a coup. The only sensible thing to do is to protect our democratic institutions instead of playing cat and mouse games. If that means a Catholic President locks up a Protestant former President for breaking the law, so be it.

It might finally break this inferiority taboo many non-White Supremacist Anglo-Saxon Protestants feel towards taking on the wolves working the country to their advantage only.
