Pass the African-American Hate Crime Bill

In six weeks, both Houses passed the Asian-American Hate Crime Bill. In the meantime, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Bill lingers in the Senate after almost a year of its passage by the House of Representatives. Very few GOP Senators support the notion police should stop killing innocent black men. Even though 49 of the same Senators voted “Yes” for the Asian-American Hate Crime Bill. I think Speaker Pelosi should introduce and pass the African-American and Black Families Hate Crime Bill, which is, word by word, an exact copy of the Asian-American version and put those white racist Senators on public trial.

Let them explain why they passed the Asian-American Bill but ignored the African-American Bill, which essentially only substituted the two words Asian-American for two new words African-American.

And if they pass it, then we have another set of laws to hold racists accountable for their violence. It’s a win-win for the Democrats.

If we want to convict all those who perpetrate hate crimes against Asian-Americans, let us also indict and convict those who inflict pain, discrimination, hate, and death on our precious and peaceful African-American citizens and black communities in general. Let Speaker Pelosi parse the Senate into those who believe in justice and equality and those who are racist bigots unfit to serve the Constitution.

The whole aim and purpose of this new hate crime bill is to show the world how racist are the U.S. GOP Senators.

MANY HATE CRIME LAWS

Mind you, the United States has more hate crimes laws passed than probably any other country in the world thanks to a violent white supremacist population. In fact, the Justice Department list them on its website.

The fact that the police departments seem to ignore them should be of grave concern to this country’s credible justice system. Theoretically speaking, the impact of a new hate crime bill is marginal because it does not address the core problem we have, which is systematic racism and bigotry that began with the very founding of this nation back to Plymouth.

Upon closer look at the Louisiana State Troopers who dragged Ronald Greene from his car and beat him to death in 2019, the Governor of the State of Louisiana , in 2016, added police officers to their hate crime statute. It was the first state to hold its police force accountable. Yet, that did not stop few racist police officers from killing a black man for speeding.

The whole aim and purpose of this new hate crime bill is to show the world how racist are the U.S. GOP Senators. And if it happens they vote for the bill to avert criticism, then the country is better off with more laws to protect its African-American population even further.

Speaker Pelosi should plan her move on the basis that most racist white cops have an IQ of 80 or lower.

ONLY LAWS WILL REVERSE THE TRUMP DAMAGE

Even though strong laws on the book might not reverse the race and religious divisions that the previous one has inflicted upon our nation. One of the reasons why so many of Trump’s domestic terrorists are escaping culpability for the January 6 insurrection is because we do not have any laws to protect us from the poison of the Confederacy.

The North has closed the ugly chapter of the civil war a long time ago, but many in the South have not. The racism and bigotry came roaring back, and all it took is a con man to start it.

Let Congress write and pass the African-American and Black Families Hate Crime Bill as an anti-Trump political maneuver to show that our country is reversing the damage he caused as a white supremacist himself. His ego and pride will not tolerate such a new law, and he may even lobby his white racist cohorts at the Senate to vote against the bill.

Should the country experience another George Floyd moment, and we will experience it again, the Senators “nay” votes for the African-American Hate Crime Bill might come in handy during the elections of 2022 or 2024. Speaker Pelosi should plan her move on the basis that most racist white cops have an IQ of 80 or lower. The expected public outrage might turn into less votes for the GOP should their Senators fall for the trap. .

Beyond the tactics, I say we should protect evenly and equally all of America’s minorities from the hate crimes that Donald Trump has sparked through his presence, his dog whistles, and his body language.
