After Attorney General Merrick Garland delivered a speech full of sweet words but short on meaningful action, I was reminded of the speech Joe Biden delivered on voting rights, which also packed a punch of hollow words. Then it dawned on me, this is the Joe Biden Modus Operandi. When under pressure on one matter or the other, just a deliver a meaningless and vague speech to relieve yourself from that pressure.
In his speech, which he chose to deliver on the eve of January 6, Garland said:
Honestly, that’s hardly enough to reassure the public their democracy is safe when Trump is working for a comeback. The lack of specifics everyone is looking for makes us all doubt the intent.
For 187 minutes Donald Trump just sat and watched with delight his supporters carry out his orders? Where is Merrick Garland to indict him?
WHY THE SPEECH IS SHORT ON TRUST
Let us just examine one element that is pivotal, for those of us who want to see justice carried out against those who broke the law, for which no one should take Garland’s speech seriously.
- Do you recall Donald Trump calling Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find him 11,700 votes so he can declare the Georgia win for Joe Biden null and void? The DOJ has a tape of that conversation. Words coming out of Trump’s mouth trying to cheat in the elections. No hearsay, no “maybe he said that”, and certainly “no Trump did not do it”. The DOJ has his crimes on tape. So why in the hell Merrick Garland has not indicted Trump for a coup against the U.S. Government?
- Trump incited the crowd to attack The Capitol on January 6 and when asked to stop them, he refused. For 187 minutes Donald Trump just sat and watched with delight his supporters carry out his orders? Where is Merrick Garland to indict him?
- Furthermore, Trump concocted, with Jeffrey Clark, a mean by which he can declare the whole election corrupt so he can remain in office. We have testimonies and drafted documents. So what is Merrick Garland waiting for?
Like I said, the Joe Biden Modus Operandi.
In fact, it confirmed that Merrick Garland has no intention of protecting our democracy from Donald Trump. Not now, and not in 2024.
SPEECHES BUT NO ACTION
Call me a skeptic, but I do not trust people who make speeches without any actions to back their words. Under the Biden presidency, this is becoming a habit. One for which the media should not stop calling him for it.
Notice how little Garland’s speech garnered the attention of the mainstream media, which hardly mentioned it. Why? Because its trust has eroded as well. The media does not trust the Biden Administration to hold Donald Trump and the leaders of the January 6 insurrection accountable for their crimes. It’s that ugly.
This is the reason why Garland’s speech delivered no specifics. It was a vague attempt intended to let as many people as possible project their own understanding of what the attorney general meant to say.
To me, it was as hollow and as inconsequential. In fact, it confirmed that Merrick Garland may have no intention of protecting our democracy from Donald Trump. Not now, and not in 2024.
Time to replace Merrick Garland. He is really not up to the job.
