In essence, Trump believes he can scold, belittle, or disparage anyone or any institution, and they should all bow to him like ants to their queen. This summarizes the life of Donald Trump in one sentence. But Trump forgot that numbers matter. To have few enemies or to have a lot makes a big difference, and no one on this planet earth has more enemies than Donald Trump. He makes everyone look small by comparison, no matter their sins. Trump put a target on his own back when the biggest enemy he sowed was the U.S. intelligence community. One that is still seething from his Putin meeting in Helsinki, when he stood by the Russian dictator against his own institutions and country.
That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. For those who understood what happened, they should never forgive a President standing against his own country by kowtowing to our enemy. For his racist supporters, that Helsinki meeting just flew over their head. Patriotism to most is just about raising the American flag, and not kneeling during the national anthem.
Name one former U.S. President Donald Trump enjoys a good relationship with. You can’t.
THE ENEMY LIST IS TOO LONG
Name one former U.S. President Donald Trump enjoys a good relationship with. You can’t. Not Barack Obama, not George Bush or his brother Jeb whom his wife trump insulted publicly, not Bill or Hillary Clinton he ran against. No one trumps Trump at how fast he makes enemies. The master of all masters, really.
So, why is anyone surprised at Trump’s legal woes and the number of cases he has to fight in court? Even if the recent indictment charge is a simple misdemeanor? Trump has spent his life cultivating enemies. First in the real estate construction scene in New York, then with every powerful figure in America since he became President in 2016.
For what it is worth, Trump is a trashy idiot because of his inability to see when to stop or when to charge. He is utterly incapable of projecting where his own self-interests lie, and this bull in the China shop has managed to cause far more damage than his enemies are willing to accept.
In essence, Trump put a target on his own back. His belittling exercise of name-calling, has earned him that target, and no one should pretend that his fate is not of his own making. Especially, not when he takes a position, as commander-in-chief, against the very institutions he presides over.
So, let us not assume that his bitter legal omelette is not the result of him breaking so many eggs.
BITTER OMELETTE
So, let us not assume that his bitter legal omelette is not the result of him breaking so many eggs. The enemy’s list is too long for Trump to escape accountability, no matter how he perceives himself as the narcissist that he is.
The worst part? He believes that his supporters can save him. Even though some of them are languishing in jail after they stormed the Capitol on January 6. Trump still believes that if he commands it, tens of thousands would show up with their guns blazing and willing to die for him.
What does that tell you when he has not called for his voters to protest in New York? Not openly, at least. It says that he is afraid of bluffing his way out of jail. He is afraid that his last supposed ace in his pocket is nothing but a dud of a card that will not save him from the wrath of all those he wronged during decades of his miserable life.
Millions of Americans want to see Trump in jail. Not because of their disdain for his faulty character, but for his beliefs that he is above the law.
That, ladies and gentlemen, rubs every law-abiding and civilized American the wrong way. Further, can the DOJ rescind all of Trump’s pardons now that he has been indicted?
