Consider what happened to coach Brian Flores during his tenure at the NFL, whose players are 70% black. The owners of the Miami Dolphins Steven Ross paid him to lose. Not only the Dolphins would pick-up better players in the next NFL draft, but Ross the Racist gets to bury for good a great black coach in an already racist system of ranchers and cattle. That last bit was provided courtesy of ex-Cowboys president Tex Schramm who once told Gene Upshaw, the Player Union president, that “You guys are cattle and we’re the ranchers, and ranchers can always get more cattle.”
I know that many say the United States is not a racist country, but what do you call bigotry of our white leaders in one of the most American of all sports when they display their hate for black people so openly? Could it be mistaken for misunderstood love? Or maybe the ranchers’ racism is what they think African-Americans prefer for a treatment.
Or, maybe they were joking.
Honestly, this much love and laughter baffle me.
Eventually, the NFL will pay Flores and treat him like they treated Colin Kapernick. A persona non grata until the next scandal. Nothing much will change, except the lies that change is happening.
AFRICAN-AMERICANS SHOULD LOOK FOR ANOTHER SPORT
In response to the experiences Brian Flores endured in Miami, a New York Giants interview for show, and the Denver Broncos run by the famous ex-quarterback John Elway, the NFL’s commissioner Roger Goodell issued a statement reiterating the NFL’s commitment to diversity.
Blah, blah, blah.
Goodell might as well line up most of the owners of the NFL with a whip in their hands. Like real ranchers.
Unless the league truly changes by stripping Steven Ross of his ownership to show it means business, and by levying the deep-pocketed New York Giants and the Denver Broncos some inordinate amount of money to send a signal it cares, all African-American parents should direct their children to play a sport other than football. Why? Because the NFL is rotten at the core. Nothing can fix it except if ranchers start losing their ranches and cattle.
Not that any other sport fares much, much better. We are still in America here. But when cattle go missing from one rancher, real change might happen. The TV ratings would show the impact right away.
Believe it or not, the NFL keeps track of the progress of the little leagues across this country. The moment less black players show up to play football, alarms will sound in the rancher’s HQ at 345 Park Avenue in New York City.
Silent boycott is the best way to make real change happen.

We are losing great coaches to racism. That should matter to every football fan in America.
Boycott, or this club of mostly old white racist men will never change otherwise.
