Ban Russia from the Olympics and Fire Thomas Bach

Surprise, surprise. The Russians have never stopped doping their athletes in spite of .. well the lack of controls put in place by Thomas Bach, head of the IOC (International Olympic Committee), whose actions seem to mirror those of Donald Trump when it comes to holding the Russians, and in particular Vladimir Putin, accountable. Simply put, the IOC must ban Russia from the Olympics, and we must find a way to fire Thomas Bach who keeps letting the Russians compete despite their incessant cheating.

On several occasions, Bach had the opportunity to hold the Russian state accountable for doping, and on every occasion, he refused to ban their athletes from the Olympics thus paving the way for more cheating. The latest is the scandal of a 15-year old Kamila Valieva whose doping allowed her to land two quadruple jumps in the skating competition.

When Russia dopes its athletes, it cheats America and the whole world out of medals. More medals means more admiration, and more accolades for a country. But despite discovering the Russians continue to dope their athletes no matter what the consequences, Bach remains adamant about not seriously punishing them for their illegal behavior. A real punishment is a total Olympic ban, and not some ROC BS.

Any wonder they cheated again in Beijing 2022?

Can someone tell Sha’Carri Richardson, an American graceful athlete, why she was banned for using Marijuana while letting Valieva and Russia off the hook for a far more enhancing drug?

That’s not Vodka acting out of control. That’s the Russian spirit, barbaric to its core. Just ask Poland.

The United States should do everything in its powers to have Thomas Bach fired from his position. Someone more honest and more just towards every athlete must take his place. Bach is cheating tens of athletes out of their rights to have their medals, and he must go. In the case of the Russian team, which won gold because of Valieva’s cheating, it is the Americans who lost out as they won silver.

Russian doping its athletes has been going on for decades. Not only they are on the prowl to find undetectable doping techniques, but they were caught trying to drill holes in the walls of the laboratories holding their athlete samples in order to exchange them with clean ones. How sick is that? That’s not Vodka acting out of control. That’s the Russian spirit, barbaric to its core. Just ask Poland.

The only way to protect ALL the athletes, especially the Americans, is to ban the Russians from participating in the Olympics for at least eight years. The ban should come with a warning that next time, it will be a ban for life and forever. Because even if we slap Russia with a four-year ban today, the Russians will cheat again. I have worked with Russians. Unfortunately, it’s in their charlatan blood to deceive and hoodwink.

The United States, along with all countries, must come together to fire Thomas Bach from his position. He has proven to be too incompetent to protect all athletes equally from Russian doping.

Furthermore, it is only appropriate, after giving the Russians so many free passes, that the IOC bans their athletes. I say for at least eight years from participating in any event. Let their Olympic leaders explain themselves to every athlete, and their parents, in Russia. Let the children of Russia learn that their leaders failed them, which is why they cannot compete for such a long time in the Olympics.
