President Joe Biden just made it clear to the world that pursuing a two-state solution, in the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas war, was essential to the future of peace. Looking in, it seems to us that appeasing the Palestinians with hollow promises while refusing to pressure Israel for a ceasefire to save civilian lives is a Biden two-state solution con job. How could a President seek peace from one side of his mouth as he seeks war, killing women and children, from the other side? Believing anything Biden says after his unconditional Israel support fiasco is a fool’s errand.
All it takes is for one Jewish billionaire to hand Biden’s Super PAC $100m in campaign donations, and Biden would swivel faster than an old spinning top. There is no future for Palestinian statehood as long as extremist and powerful Jewish American donors, à la former Sheldon Adelson, step up to kill the process. Hello, Charles Koch.
In the meantime, China keeps collecting new allies misaligned with Israeli intentions, which goes to show how costly it is going to be for the United States to keep backing Israeli expansion and its system of apartheid. And possibly Israel itself if Israelis continue to vote for violent and expansionist extremists to run their affairs.
He [Biden] is a prisoner of our system of democracy that relies on the rich and powerful to run the country as they please.
THE FUTURE FOR ISRAEL LOOKS GRIM
As long as Israel keeps its tight grip on the lives of everyday Palestinians, not affiliated with Hamas, the country will always be facing international pressure that will only increase.
Yes, the United States backs Israel with total determination. However, when US national security interests begin crumbling because of that support with a country unwilling to co-exist with the Palestinians, the U.S. may react by either pressuring Israel for a real two-state solution, or abandoning Israel all together.
Today, however, Biden does not see BRICS+, the new world order rising to compete with today’s western civilization still retaining a colonizing mindset when it supports Israeli occupation, as a real threat yet. Had he, he would not have granted Israel a green light to destroy Gaza and its civilian population.
Besides Biden, the very same Israeli government, whose survival depends on American Jews pressuring the U.S. government into compliance, is as blind as a bat. No startling levels of antisemitism is going to convince Netanyahu, et al., to temper their violence against the Palestinians. It’s lands they want to steal and lives they want to either cleanse, or dispose off, systematically.
So, if you hear any U.S. official speak of a two-state solution as the Gaza war rages on and our pipelines of weapons go uninterrupted, just think of them as con men or women. They did not mean it since 1967, and they still do not mean it now.
Don’t let Biden anesthetize you. He is a prisoner of our system of democracy that relies on the rich and powerful to run the country as they please.
