The August 23 debate between the front-runners of the GOP will include Donald Trump (if he shows up), Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Chris Christie and Doug Burgum. Just because Chris Christie has been quite vocal about Trump’s treasonous behavior after he lost the 2020 elections, it is highly likely he is going to target Ron DeSantis during the debate and Christie is going to eat DeSantis lunch.
Known as a better debater, Christie, most likely, is going to make DeSantis look like the little man that he is. What will definitely be an advantage for Christie? It’s DeSantis’ very, very thin skin.
Repeatedly, the Governor of Florida has been unable to contain his displeasure, and even anger, when someone confronts him about his policies or culture wars. Look for Christie to get under that thin skin to unseat him from his perch behind Trump.
Look at how DeSantis responded to Rep. Byron Donalds, the only conservative GOP Representative from Florida. Thin skin does not even come close to describing Ronny.
In fact, out of all the candidates, Christie is a better fit for the Office than either Trump or DeSantis.
RON DESANTIS’ UNPLEASANT PERSONALITY
DeSantis’ unpleasant and acrimonious personality is going to show big time on that debate stage. The man just lacks charisma anyway you slice his rhetoric. Look for Christie to showcase that unpleasantness.
His donors and close supporters are still hoping for a comeback of a sort, and they are betting the house on August 23. But how can you prepare to be more personable, which goes against your soul? How will DeSantis come as a man Americans can trust to lead when he has this inner inability to compromise, show empathy, or come across as genuine and sincere? Especially with the women voters, he took away their rights for abortion after 6 weeks.
One question, in fact, one of the female panelists should ask him about is why he signed the 6-week abortion ban bill without any fanfare or announcements? And just wait for that anger to show. In his eyes, through his body language, and possibly by uttering an inappropriate response.
We believe Chris Christie is going to eat Ron DeSantis lunch. We hope so because there are no people around him who are able to convince him he is unfit to run for President.
In fact, out of all the candidates, Christie is a better fit for the Office than either Trump or DeSantis. We hope his chances improve, whether we agree with all his policies, or not. Because the alternatives send shivers down our spine.
