How China is Exploiting The Gaza War

The Gaza War has opened new rifts in US diplomatic initiatives promoting peace in the Middle East because it highlights conclusively that Israeli oppression of Palestinians will not abet terror, nor will it bring any peace to the Israelis. Just the opposite. The oppression of Palestinians has led to more violence and death, mostly of Israeli and Palestinian innocent civilians. Meanwhile, China is exploiting the Gaza War by winning the hearts and minds of the Arab people as it takes a different approach to the conflict.

Assuredly, it behooves the United States to stem a new tide rising that may eventually sideline its influence in favor of new Arab rapprochement with Beijing. As the US plays the Arabs while giving Israel 100% of its support no matter the circumstances, Beijing is playing the opposite game. It is supporting Hamas secretly while it pays public lip service to Israel and peace.

The United States must take into account that Israel prioritizing the normalization of its relations with the Gulf countries is a bridge too far. Instead, we must concentrate all our diplomatic capital on peace with the Palestinians. Lest, it wants China or Iran to slowly and surely uproot US influence to the point any future diplomacy might fail at every turn.

After the Gaza War, expect a flurry of Arab diplomacy with China and Iran to follow to appease the masses.

BLINKEN BELIEVES THE US CAN IGNORE THE ARABS

Secretary of State Antony Blinken just doubled down on the U.S. objection to a ceasefire in Gaza, fearing it would provide Hamas with time to regroup. Let us, for a moment, agree with him and consider the consequences.

If Israel follows with its promise to control the security of Gaza, the way it controls the West Bank, which has turned the country into an apartheid state, how will that impact the region.

Did the Arab rulers secretly provide Blinken assurances that the Gaza War is not impacting their people, which afforded Blinken the Chutzpah to refuse the will of the global community asking for a ceasefire? We doubt this very much. No matter how heavy-handed Arab rulers are, the most they fear is more street and organic uprisings.

Or is Blinken refusing the ceasefire as a mean to show it is standing firm in its beliefs that supporting Israel no matter the cost is the right policy.

Meanwhile, however, neither Russia nor China, or Iran are standing still. All three are trying to exploit the blind support the United States is providing the extremist government of Netanyahu, no matter the crimes they commit. Eventually, they will succeed to have more Arab street influence, which, naturally, would force Arab rulers to fall in line.

After the Gaza War, expect a flurry of Arab diplomacy with China and Iran to follow to appease the masses. Even Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia cannot ignore the writing on the wall, as young Saudis, who support him wholeheartedly, express frustration with the status quo while Israel is killing Muslims like them.

The seismic rifts are showing, and the U.S. is refusing to recognize them. Blame Antony Blinken for this shortsightedness.

The whole construct of our policy to Israel’s security, when Israel itself seems to have neglected its own, is harming US interests.

NETANYAHU’S EXTREMISM AND INFLUENCE OVER US CONGRESS IS A POISON PILL

We all know how much influence Israel yields over the US Congress. During times of pursuing peace, that influence is extremely positive because it helped both the US and Israel achieve considerable diplomatic gains. Today, however, the influence mostly appeases Congress while Israel abuses the Palestinians and Israeli settlers steal their lands and kill them with impunity. That influence has become a poison pill for the US.

That kind of extreme influence that goes beyond the survival of Israel to the expansion of Israel at any cost is strengthening China, Russia, and Iran in the region. To the detriment of US interests, we might say.

Yes, Hamas must be eliminated. Yes, we must save all the Israeli hostages and return them home safely to their families. And yes, we must make sure Israel security is guaranteed. But Israel of today has shown that it is more interested in expanding settlements than defending its borders from Hamas.

The whole construct of our policy to Israel’s security, when Israel itself seems to have neglected its own, is harming US interests. If China gains more ground in the region, it will be partially due to Congress swallowing its own poison pill without realizing what outcome awaits our interests. It is also mostly due to the extremist Israeli government, which neglected to secure its citizens from the terror of Hamas.
