Senator Mitt Romney announced on Twitter that he is retiring from the Senate. Romney retiring is a big loss for the country because his dignity, honesty, and unblemished ethics played a key role against the unhinged impact of Donald Trump. One whose own life represents the worst in business and politics. Many will miss Mitt Romney, whether you agreed or disagreed with his policies. With him are gone the last vestiges of decency and honor.

Romney announced his retirement, but not before taking a swipe at the advanced ages of both President Biden and the other guy. In his video delivery, he embraced a “New generation of younger leaders” who will carry the mantle, and we could not agree more. As long as that youth does not support or follow Trump and his idiocy.

Past 2025, we will miss your honesty and integrity in the Senate, even though we disagree with your policies.

In today’s toxic political environment and the fraudulent era of Donald Trump, Senator Romney is a breath of fresh air. His approach to life and public service, even though you may not like his ideas or the program he has committed himself to implementing, is a model for all politicians to emulate. We believe he will go down in history as the most honest and the most high-minded Senators the State of Utah should be proud to call its son.

What worries us the most about Romney’s retirement is that his influence on the senate might wane. Who will assume the duty of the same transactional honesty we all witnessed in Romney’s dignified behavior? How will his absence impact politics in general, since we are still living the Trump nightmare? Without a shred of a doubt, Romney’s retirement will have consequences because Trump is still alive and kicking. He kept a check on Trump’s violations of the law, and without his balanced and wise presence, we believe the Trump circus will go even further to harm the country.

Thank you, Senator Romney, for your service. And thank you for standing up to Donald Trump by choosing country over party. Past 2025, we will miss your honesty and integrity in the Senate, even though we do not stand for the same policies.
