The United States, because of its youth, is a country in the midst of an evolution. One that could last few hundreds years more before maturity of its people and politicians steer it to be the great nation we all want our country to be. Meanwhile, do not lose faith because of Trumpism. The man is an aberration and an anomaly that one day we may describe as the end of an era. An era of bigoted and racist people with an IQ of ignorance that is off the charts.
Ours is a country of free spirited and rebellious people who, not long ago, rode wagons across vast lands in search of wealth and stability. The settlers of the post civil war era suffered at the hands of the rich and the corrupt as much as poor Americans are suffering today at the hands of Republicans.
One man in particular, Thomas Clark Durant, single-handedly sank the United States in its first depression in 1893.
Wealthy people rigging the system is America’s sign of immaturity. It will, one day, come to an end. Nothing lasts forever.
The future looks brighter. In the meantime, we must go through the pains of Trumpism for a new dawn to rise.
The UGLINESS OF DONALD TRUMP
This brings us to today. Americans just witnessed in the last five years the real face and personality of the ugly American with all his cruelty on display for the world to see. Think about it, who would make fun of a handicapped person. Donald Trump does. Who would attack our war heroes with such barbarity? Donald Trump does. The list can go on.
Having said that, we should not lose faith because of Trumpism. I believe he is the last Mohican and all his followers are an older baby-boomer generation fast dropping like flies six feet under. Think Austin in Texas as the dawn of a new era.
When one reads the tea leaves of the Census Bureau, one realizes that the Trump generation is losing grounds quickly. This is why all those old white men in positions of power across the nation are trying to stop time by pulling the rug from under our voting rights. They truly believe that they will continue to rule as a minority in a democracy, and if democracy is not too accommodating, then they will turn to fascism.
The problem with this scenario is that the Insurrection of January 6, a test run of sort, failed to break down our strong institutions. We know who, how, and what might come next, and Congress is preparing the meet the likes of Trump with much stronger laws and wide awake watching the slippery slope of fascism.
The future looks brighter. In the meantime, we must go through the pains of Trumpism for a new dawn to rise.
