Sophisticated political observers know well that AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby, has total control over the US foreign policy when it comes to Israel, the Arab and Muslim countries. Anytime AIPAC wants to pass certain laws to protect the State of Israel, hundreds of lobbyists descend on Congress to dangle carrots and sticks in the faces of our legislators. But there is a way to loosen AIPAC grip on US politics, which Biden, himself, provided the best hint so far in trying to deal with the “uncommitted” voters of Michigan.
Originally, American Zionists created AIPAC in the 1950s to “spin positive PR after Israeli atrocities”, per the Washington Post. It has since evolved to officially contribute dark money to candidates who dance to Israel’s tunes of violence.
Like the idiot Andy Ogles of Tennessee who thinks Israel should kill all the Palestinians. Ogles is not one of AIPAC recipient of campaign funding, but you better be sure he said what he said because he is looking for an AIPAC handout.
Ogles is one of those assault rifle advocates, who believe rifles are an extension of his Tootsie Roll.
No one knows where the next Zionist American bombs are going to fall.
MICHIGAN MATTERS
Not to digress, it is factually essential for the Arab American community in the State of Michigan to flex their big muscles come November 5 by voting as “uncommitted” as they promised Joe Biden. To loosen the AIPAC grip on US politics starts by Arab and Muslim Americans gaining a power base that would carry a big stick every election cycle moving forward.
From Michigan, then unto other swing states like Pennsylvania and Ohio. Even majority Democrats or Republican states, like New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia matter in general presidential elections. The point is that Arab and Muslim Americans have to show up to vote in 2024, preferably as “uncommitted” to show that their unity as one block speaking for all Arab and Muslim Americans matter.
The next step would be to reach out to other political organizations from the OIC to expand their big numbers influence over non-Arab Muslims. Just as the OIC formed its own Cooperation, Arab Americans must work closely with Indonesian, Malaysian, Pakistani, and Afghani peaceful groups to speak in one voice, under one union.
Today, the Muslim communities in the US are as fragmented and directionless as they are abroad. Start by offering multi-language websites and emails to speak to them directly, or through alliance with other politically-motivated organizations.
Today, it’s the Palestinian Cause, but tomorrow, it might be the Malaysian Cause. No one knows where the next Zionist American bombs are going to fall. Set aside all religious, social, and cultural divides because Arab and Muslim Americans because all have one common enemy taking advantages of their cultural and geopolitical differences to divide and conquer their communities.
Unity should be the call of every Arab and Muslim American, and organizing should be their motto.
AS FOR THE RICH GULF COUNTRIES
For years and years, Arab oil-rich countries tried and failed to influence US policy because AIPAC stood in their ways. In the 1980s, a Palestinian successful businessman named Mohammad Hadid, tried to play a major role, but AIPAC chased him and his millions out of Washington.
After so many years, the Gulf countries decided to fully embrace the adage “if you can’t beat them, join them,” which explains the Abrams Accords and the new normalizations with Israel. In effect, the gulf countries decided to outsource their American security to Israel, which could influence Congress to protect their rules.
Don’t blame them for that mindset.
Once their rulers see how mature and effective Arab Americans and Muslim Americans power has become in US politics, they would come running for their support.
Unity should be the call of every Arab and Muslim American, and organizing should be their motto. The rest would fall in place far easier than anyone can imagine. To include a more vibrant and potent BDS movement to even the playing field of influence.
