Former President Donald Trump is a media hog. Imagine a kid who cannot sit still and you may understand the Trump attention grabbing syndrome without which he becomes a dysfunctional entity. But today, Marjorie Greene is stealing Trump thunder as she enjoys all the negative attention from a media eager to portray her for the racist that she is. Between access to Twitter and the cameras, Trump may be realizing that backing Greene might have been a grave mistake.
I expect Donald Trump to put her in her place rather quickly to draw the attention back to himself. If I am wrong, it won’t be the first time; but a haunch tells me Trump cannot afford to become oblivious as his small minions get ahead of him.
Hopefully, next time she [Mary Trump] appears on TV, someone in the media might consider asking her whether Donald Trump might downsize the star he created in Marjorie Greene.
THE NARCISSIST WILL REVOLT
We all know that Donald Trump is a sick narcissist of the worst kind, which means that he thinks the sun spins around his own center of gravity. Literally.
And since it does not take much to rile him up, the likelihood that if Greene keeps appearing on camera to steal his thunder, he might react rather swiftly. How and what his reaction might be is anybody’s guess, and I would imagine there is no better person than Mary Trump to equivocally divulge the answers to such questions. Of all the analysts we listened to in the last year, Mary Trump has predicted quite accurately the behavior of her cousin down to the smallest details.
Hopefully, next time she appears on TV, someone in the media might consider asking her whether Donald Trump might downsize the star he created in Marjorie Greene.
Apparently, Trump’s anger is not receding. One can only imagine his state of mind as his world has shrunk considerably to residing in a vacation resort instead of the White House, and to using his own private jet as opposed to using the taxpayer-funded Air Force One. How would he vet that anger, besides punishing Republicans not towing his deranged line, is by possibly punishing those who may outshine him, not only in crazy behavior, but in the limelight of rolling cameras and Trump supporters hailing Marjorie Greene.
In my opinion, it is a question of time before Trump clips Greene’s wings if she makes too many media appearances.
The Republican Party is lost not because Trump diverted the anger of his supporters to demolish democracy, but because the GOP levers pull for the greed of corporate America in control of the laws that Mitch McConnell is only willing to pass.
THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS LOST BECAUSE ITS LEVERS PULL FOR EXTREME CAPITALISM
While all of our attention is on the details of who is leading the Neo-Republican Party of today, let us spend some time talking about the “why” instead of the “who”.
Why has the Republican Party lost its way? Why so man=y Americans love Donald Trump even though he has delivered very little in terms of improving the lives of Americans? There were more people unemployed than employed when he left office. More people dying than when he came into office due to COVID. More people lining-up for food banks, and more people stressed over their financial security.
At the same time, the billionaires in this country, under Trump, have become far richer since COVID. Wonder not why Americans are even angrier than Trump. The problem is most of them believe Trump is the solution when he is the real problem. Call it the case of “Ignorant Angry Men Meet One Con Man”.
The Republican Party is lost not because Trump diverted the anger of his supporters to demolish democracy, but because the GOP levers pull for the greed of corporate America in control of the laws that Mitch McConnell is only willing to pass. America has become a country of corporations.
As a result, we get an insurrection; as well as angry people voting for mentally deranged representatives, like Marjorie Greene, mostly out of ignorance or racism.
Anger and ignorance are the deadliest combinations to mix.
