It only took one thousand and one day between November 3, 2020, and August 1, 2023, to indict Donald Trump and six other co-conspirators when they began to collude to overturn the elections of 2020. Today, the Department of Justice is enforcing the laws of the land to hold Donald Trump accountable. This dénouement is bittersweet, yet, it is so essential to our democracy and the layers it needs to protect it against any future wannabees eager to hold unto power at all costs. Many Americans, in awe and respect, of our democratic system hope that, in the near future, prison awaits the despicable seven.

August 1, 2023, is both a sad and an important day in our history. To match with other significant days that either saw the birth of this nation, or sustained its resilience in the face of intractable odds.

Needless to say that 2024 may turn out to be the biggest circus year of the century.

MANY ARE WONDERING WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

To predict the complexities of what might happen to Trump and his campaign should a jury find him guilty of the crimes the DOJ is accusing him of is truly wild. We all know that if Trump goes to prison, he can still run for President. Something our Constitution did not foresee because back in the day, honor mattered, and none of the Founding Fathers could have imagined that a man of stature could be so crooked and so dishonest.

But since ignorance is so prevalent among the voters of our modernity thanks partially to a corrupt political system, we must endure such indignity of possibly watching a convict run for President from his prison cell.

How will the voters react to such a probability is anyone’s guess. How will the courts rule when Trump challenges the incarceration as detrimental to his candidacy is anyone’s guess as well. Needless to say that 2024 may turn out to be the biggest circus year of the century.

Here at Punditry, we are predicting that Donald Trump would write a book while incarcerated. What might be its title? “I won the 2020 elections”.

WHAT HAPPENS IF TRUMP WINS IN 2024?

Even if Trump wins the presidency, he cannot pardon himself from the incarceration under State laws. This opens another Pandora’s box in terms of governance clashing with the rule of law. Of course, should the voters reject Donald Trump in 2024, he may languish in jail for a few years, possibly until he runs again in 2028.

The word “complexity” does not even come close to describe what this country is about to experience.

As for the six co-conspirators who do not enjoy any protection Trump may seek as a candidate for President, they will just rot in prison for a while. Mostly to send the message that the U.S. Government is unwilling to tolerate any future morons undermining our democracy.
