There is lots of talk about an exit ramp for Vladimir Putin for which he saves face and spins a victory out of a defeat. Those bureaucrats clamoring to find a diplomatic solution to Putin’s savagery are simply trying to write the best of history in their resumes, while leaving the worst for another generation to tackle. Putin exit ramp in Ukraine amounts to giving Hitler another chance after World War II. The world community cannot possibly believe Putin won’t repeat against other countries, or start World War III to satisfy his urge to build a new evil empire.
We must not not allow Vladimir Putin to ever start another war. Ever again.
As painful as the videos streaming from Ukraine showing Putin’s savagery against the innocent women and children, we must not give Putin an exit ramp to unfold his terror on another day against another country in the future. This war must be the last war he wages. Period.
This means we teach him a military lesson he and the Russian people would never forget soon. Such would bring his regime down, which is what the world community must aim for.
No more wars by Putin.
An exit ramp for Putin in Ukraine is no different than canceling our 1944 Normandy landings because Hitler called for peace.
DESTROY THE RUSSIAN MYTH
The Ukrainians, with help from the west, are about to destroy the myth of Russia as a superpower. It is imperative for the world to bring Putin and his war machine to the abyss; and for that to happen, we must not allow him an exit ramp or a negotiated settlement to regroup for another day. We would be saving his hide. Literally.
This slow grinding war is the best opportunity the west has had during his thirty years of reign to put an end to Putinism. Mincing our words or thoughts in service of a diplomatic solution in which Putin can snatch victory out of his defeat is the last thing we want done. An exit ramp for Putin in Ukraine is no different than canceling our 1944 Normandy landings because Hitler called for peace.
Having said that, it is hard to imagine that the Biden Administration is not pursuing this course of action without regard for what the future might hold. How many countries or regions Putin has to destroy before we put an end to his terror? This is his fourth war against other peaceful people. It absolutely must be his last.
And those who think a cornered Putin is far more dangerous are not taking into accounts the dynamics of the Russian people. Like every violent thug in the history of mankind, Putin has more enemies than friends and an exit ramp would deactivate the potential for an internal regime change and the end of his era of terror.
No Putin exit ramp. No diplomatic solution in Ukraine. Not before we clip Putins’ wings and cause his demise.
FAKE PEACE TO SAVE IT
It is possible that the on-going peace discussions between the Ukrainians and the Russians are for show only. Men, like President Zelensky, understand that “neutrality” is a Putin post-dated invasion if he survives this war. Fools are those who would put their trust in Putin’s signature for peace the way Chamberlain and Daladier put theirs in the Munich Agreement.
Anyone who wants to be the Chamberlain of our time should pursue a solution to save Putin’s face. It’s automatic notoriety.
If that means we should fake peace, or peace discussions, so be it. If that means we should let Putin think there is a Chamberlain lurking in the Biden Administration, more power to our President. But, if that means President Biden wants to end the war in Ukraine, come hell or high water, and let Putin survive to kill more civilians in the future, then we must call the President for his shortsightedness. That’s our duty.
No Putin exit ramp. No diplomatic solution in Ukraine. Not before we clip Putins’ wings and cause his demise.
Putin saving face today means more innocent civilians die tomorrow on our watch. Again.
