From what others have written about the Florida Governor’s time at a notorious prison camp, it seems that Guantanamo shaped DeSantis cruelty towards others. This is where he learned that interpersonal skills and outreach are utterly useless, and that only persecution can bend people to his will, which now explains his obsession with Disney. The company fought back against his cruelty, so he is out to bend Disney’s will. Think of his battle with Disney as a scenario where a Guantanamo prisoner refuses to submit and DeSantis will continue water boarding him until he surrenders.
Where else he got the idea of shipping hapless migrant workers to Martha’s Vineyard but Gunatnamo? To break the will of other migrant workers considering entering the United States. He seems to have abandoned the project when his barbarity did not work.
In effect, DeSantis played ball even though his responsibilities, as a lawyer, were to highlight any illegalities he observed and steer the investigators away from such.
COVER UP AT GUANTANAMO
After the suspicious death of three inmates at Guantanamo on June 9, 2006, A Captain Patrick McCarthy ordered DeSantis, now enjoying the title of a Judge General Advocate (JAG) in support of the Navy Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS), to gather information.
The Guardian reported that even though the deaths were highly suspicious, DeSantis just went along with the official account despite disparaging inconsistencies between the official NCIS report and the facts on the ground.

Should we not be concerned that Ron DeSantis, in his mind, is treating the American people like prisoners at Guantanamo?
CRUELTY GALORE
Guantanamo was a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11. The U.S. Government turned a blind eye to all the mistakes, as it justified the end by the means to achieve them. But for Ron DeSantis to refuse to highlight his role during that uncertain period demonstrates how much trust the public should put in his silence.
It is almost a certainty that Ron DeSantis, at the time only 27 years old, learned about bending people’s will from watching the torture that took place before his eyes. Guantanamo was his laboratory, where he discovered the weaknesses of others in the face of brutal and callous control.
We see the results today in his behavior towards others. Whether they are allies or foes. The prison camp in Cuba shaped Ron DeSantis and turned him into a cruel beast capable of harming other human beings to no end but for total control.
Should we not be concerned about whom, and what, made Ron DeSantis the man acting with such disregard for other people’s rights today?

Is that why he wants to build a prison around Disney?
