When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 and kidnapped Israeli hostages to trade with the 3,000 Palestinian hostages Israel held in its prisons, it did not realize it picked the wrong hostages. These were not supporters of the Likud Party or any of the far-right smaller parties in Israel, these were liberal or leftist Jews who had no love for the Netanyahu government, and vice versa. This may explain why saving the hostages is not a priority for Netanyahu.
We believe had they been Haredi or ultra-Orthodox Zionist hostages, Netanyahu would have never hit Gaza that hard.
They would never vote for him, so Netanyahu could not care less about them or their next of kin, who have been protesting over the last six months. That should tell you what kind of person Benjamin Netanyahu truly is.
As for the first batch that Hamas released, most analysts believe that Netanyahu realized the end of his government if ALL hostages were released. So, he stopped cold by refusing to end the war in order to extend his rule of terror.
Some Israelis are realizing that Hamas is not the problem, but Benjamin Netanyahu is the real problem.
THE ANTI-NETANYAHU PROTESTS ARE GROWING
It is possible, considering that protests against the governance of Netanyahu are growing in size, that most Israelis are realizing that all that genocidal maniac cares about is his own political future. Since Saturday, tens of thousands of Israelis have joined the families of the hostages in Israel to remove Netanyahu from power for the hostages to be free. The same ones Itamar Ben-Gvir and Belzalel Smotrich do not want Hamas to release in order to continue the mass killings of civilians,
Some Israelis are realizing that Hamas is not the problem, but Benjamin Netanyahu is the real problem. Saving the hostages are not his priority because of who they are, and because of what his future might hold if there are no more hostages to rally the Israelis around to continue the war endlessly. At least until 2026 when new elections are due in Israel.
But, it seems that more and more Israelis cannot wait until that date. They want to force Netanyahu out of office today.
In the meantime, Israel is imploding on two fronts.
The whole world hates Israel, and Israelis hate themselves. Not exactly the formula Theodor Herzl had in mind.
ARAB-ISRAELIS AND THE HAREDI
Three Arab-Israelis stabbed three Israeli soldiers at a bus stop in Beersheba. The tensions between the Arab-Israelis, which represents 20% of them population, and the European Jews settling their lands are at all-time high.
In addition, Israel’s supreme court dictated that the far-right Haredi Jews must start serving in the army. In the past, the Israeli government has subsidized that community a break for their youths to study religion instead. Now, they must all dress up in IDF uniforms and fight like everybody else. The Haredi leaders are and have threatened to leave Israel if forced to serve in the Israeli army.
Between Israelis losing trust in their prime minister, Arab-Israelis losing trust in Israel, and the Haredi losing trust in their own government, Israel is a society at war with itself.
On a long-term basis, all the elements are in place for the Israeli society to falter and stumble into oblivion. Zionism has created such chasm with its violent approach, it is impossible for Israel to survive internally the carnage of Benjamin Netanyahu and his wars.
